New research by Economics PhD student Elena Derby has been profiled by the National Low Income Housing Coalition. The work studies the Low Income Housing Tax Credit (LIHTC), the largest federal subsidy for the construction of low income housing in the United States. Ms. Derby finds that people who spent more time as kids living in housing that received the credit are more likely to attend college and earn higher incomes as adults.
